VESDA 19" Sub Racks

Glass Fronted Enclosures

To compliment the VESDA LaserPLUS range of detectors, displays and programmers a range of IP66 enclosures are available. The 19 inch rack enclosures are designed to house up to 20 display and programmer modules in a wide variety of configurations to suit the particular requirements of a site where centralised control and monitoring of the VESDA system is required. A detector enclosure is also available which incorporates a small glass window to view an on-board display. The detector enclosure enables a single detector to be installed in challenging environments where a high IP rating is required.

Modular System

The VESDA Aspirating Smoke Detectors are available in a wide range of configurations to suit the particular requirements of each site. The system is modular with Display and Programmer Modules located in the most convenient location. The backbone to this modularity is VESDAnet, a fault tolerant RS485 communications loop which links all elements of the VESDA system together.

Mounting Options

Display and Programmer modules can be mounted in a Detector Enclosure, in a Remote Box or in a 19 inch Subrack. Details of these standard mounting options are given in the Detector, Display and Programmer Datasheets.

Relay Signalling

Each Display Module can be configured to drive relays which can be used for reliable (fault tolerant) signalling of Fire and Fault conditions to external systems.Standard Display Modules can drive 7 relays while Scanner Display Modules can be configured to drive 7 or 12 relays. Relay functionality is fully configurable according to site requirements.

Detector Enclosure

A single LaserPLUS Detector can be installed in an IP66 enclosure. The door allows convenient access for maintenance while a small glass window in the door enables viewing of a LaserPLUS Display Module mounted in the central position on the Detector. Sampling pipe connections and cable entries are similar to the standard Detector. In order to maintain the IP66 rating the air exhaust must be routed to prevent the ingress of water.

19" Rack Enclosure

19" Subracks can be installed in IP66 glass fronted enclosures. Two versions are available; 2 rack (up to 8 Modules) and 5 rack (up to 20 Modules). 19" Subracks are mounted on a swing frame for convenient connection of all the cables.Cable entry for 24VDC power, VESDAnet connection and interfacing to the relays is provided by a removable gland plate which is drilled as required on site. 19" Subracks and 3U blank panels must be ordered separately.
