| VESDA Remote Devices
The VESDA product line includes a number of remote devices that can be connected to a VESDAnet network to enable remote operation / signaling. The following devices are currently available:
The System Relay Module (SRM)
The System Relay Module offers a cost effective and flexible alternative for system design, a single System Relay Module can report any fault or alarm condition that occurs on the VESDAnet loop, irrespective of its zone. This provides the end user with a variety of secondary reporting options that make early warning more cost effective at locations remote from the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP).
Its purpose is to provide the earliest possible warning of an alarm or fault condition of any device on the VESDAnet loop to initiate investigation. For example, where site monitoring is conducted from either a remote gatehouse or central control room the SRM can be installed to drive a warning alarm or sounder without the need for multiple remote displays and relays.
Further investigation can be conducted via VESDA's software monitoring package VSM3, or by reviewing the resident FACP. The System Relay Module is supported by the latest releases of the VSM3 (Version 3.10.05) and VConfig Pro and Basic (Version 3.10.03) software packages.
Display Module
A display reports a visual representation of smoke levels, and all alarm and fault conditions on its corresponding VESDA detector. The internal sounder warns personnel in the local area that an alarm threshold has been reached, or a fault has occurred. Displays can be located at a convenient location – either within the detector module, or remotely on the VESDAnet. For monitoring convenience, multiple displays can be associated with a single detector.
The Programmer Module (Programming Options)
The menu driven programmer module allows the VESDA LaserPLUS system to be configured, commissioned and maintained. Only one programmer is required to support the entire network. It can be located either with a particular detector, or remotely for easy access. It is recommended that at least one programmer be permanently connected to the VESDAnet.
The programmer is available in a hand-held version to plug into the VESDAnet socket located on the detector, or located in a remote area. It is specifically designed for convenient on-site maintenance and service interrogation.
VESDA's PC Link High Level Interface (HLI)
VESDA's latest PC Link High Level Interface has further enhanced VESDA's already elite monitoring capabilties. By configuring the HLI using the latest VConfig software for remote interrogation and notification, a VESDAnet can dial out to a PC when an alarm condition has occurred (remote notification) and can allow an operator to dial in to a system (remote interrogation) at any time to check its status.
The VESDA Analog Output Module (AOM)
Easily interfaced with a facility's existing Building Management System, VESDA's new product offering, the Analog Output Module (AOM) reports smoke levels in analog format.
Offering a simple, cost-effective solution for analog based automated building systems, the AOM converts smoke levels into an analog output voltage of 0 - 10 VDC.
The AOM features four (4) channel outputs that can be assigned to individual detectors, the four pipes of the LaserSCANNER, or a combination of both.
Featuring full VESDAnet connectivity, and operational as a stand-alone and remotely locatable module, the AOM is easily configured via VESDA's PC software VSM3 (3.10.05), Vconfig Pro (3.10.03) or Vconfig Basic (3.10.03).
